Brother Error – “Drum error. Please swipe the green tab”

On each drum unit assembly, locate the green tab on the top, left side.Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from right to left and left to right several times. We suggest 10 to 20 times.
Please make sure to you return the green tab to the home position to the left side. It should click into place.

*If you do not return the green tab to the home position, this could result in a vertical stripe on printed pages as well as not clear the error message above.

If you still receive this error message after reinstalling the drum unit with cartridge please check to make sure the green tab it’s fully to the left side of the drum unit. This is the number one cause for continuing to receive this error message on Brother laser printers.

Their customer service tends to be excellent and should most likely walk you through a solution. But in general the above should solve this problem for you.
